Providing Food Assistance And Support In Mercer County
At Hope for Harrodsburg, we believe a food pantry should be more than just a place to pick up groceries—it should be a place where people find hope, dignity, and compassion. We know that needing help can feel overwhelming. But when you walk through our doors, you're not just another name on a list. You’re a neighbor, a friend, a valued part of this community. And we’re here to serve you with kindness, understanding, and respect.
We know that every family is different, and so are their needs. That’s why we chose to be a shopping-style pantry, allowing families to select the foods that best fit their needs—just like they would at a grocery store. Volunteers are there to offer guidance, not judgment, making sure every person leaves with food they will truly use.
Hope for Harrodsburg isn’t run by government programs or paperwork. It’s fueled by the generosity of our neighbors, the dedication of volunteers, and the belief that God calls us to care for one another. This means we can serve freely, with faith and flexibility, ensuring that no one falls through the cracks.
Hard times don’t discriminate, and neither do we. Whether you’ve hit an unexpected financial hardship, experienced job loss, or are simply struggling to make ends meet, you are welcome here. We don’t ask for pay stubs or proof of income—just a driver’s license or state ID and proof that you live in Mercer County.
Many food programs focus on extreme poverty, but what about the families who are working hard but still struggling? The ones who earn just enough to miss out on other forms of assistance but are skimping on groceries or forced to buy unhealthy, cheaper options because they can’t afford the nutritious foods their family truly needs. That’s where we step in.
We believe that a full heart is just as important as a full stomach. That’s why we don’t just hand out food and send you on your way. If you need someone to pray with you, we’re here. If you need a word of encouragement, we’ll share one. If you just need to be reminded that you are not alone, you’ll feel it the moment you walk through our doors.
Because families choose what they need, there’s less wasted food and more meaningful impact. Every donation is used wisely, stretching resources to serve as many people as possible while ensuring that no food—or generosity—goes to waste.
At Hope for Harrodsburg, we don’t just feed people. We uplift them. We serve with love. And we believe that a little hope can change everything.
We believe that God's abundance is meant to be shared. Your garden's bounty can help provide fresh, nourishing produce to families in our community.
Every seed you sow is an act of love, a reflection of God's provision, and a reminder that hope grows when we care for one another.
At Hope for Harrodsburg Food Pantry, we are a Christ-centered, non-profit organization dedicated to serving the people of Harrodsburg and Mercer County by providing food assistance, encouragement, and opportunities to experience God’s love in action. Guided by our faith, our mission is twofold:
We welcome all residents of Harrodsburg and Mercer County to visit us once a month for groceries, selecting from a variety of nutritious items tailored to support their needs. Our distribution process is simple and open to everyone, ensuring dignity and respect for all who come to us for assistance.
As we fulfill this essential need, we aim to embody the teachings of Christ and create lasting connections that uplift both body and soul, fostering a stronger and more caring community.
Discipling People for God! This guiding principle is at the heart of our mission, shaping our efforts to serve and support the community while sharing God’s love
Psalms 112:5
Join us in our mission to combat food insecurity and spread God's love in our community.
Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference.
Everyone serving the pantry is a volunteer - which means 100% of your contribution stays within the pantry.
Together, we can bring hope to those who need it most.
We love our community, so please feel free to visit us whenever you need a "Hand Up" and remember we are here for you
